CHRIS BROWN REMOVED
FROM PLAY LIST AT 96.1 KISS Tuesday, February 10, 2009, Pittsburgh PA… 96.1 Kiss has removed all music by Chris Brown from the radio station until further notice. The 19-year-old recording artist was arrested Sunday night and he was booked on suspicion of making criminal threats. Brown was released after posting $50,000 bail. He is under investigation for allegedly attacking his girlfriend, 20-year-old singer Rihanna, early Sunday morning, police said. Rihanna reportedly suffered visible injuries in the alleged physical confrontation in a car.
The following morning after the alleged incident Mikey & Big Bob's show was dominated by listener feedback via text and phone from this event. "It's what everybody wanted to talk about, listeners were outraged and wondered why we were continuing to support his music, we met with our Music Director on behalf of our audience to see if we could pull all Chris Brown songs from 96.1 Kiss until further information and legal clarity came forward."
"Our listeners have strong feelings about this" says Music Director and Afternoon talent Bonics, “we have made the decision to take all Chris Brown songs OFF the radio, although we are fans of Chris’s music, and this will not last forever, it appears Chris made some poor choices so we are following the lead of our listeners, and will put his music on hold on 96.1 Kiss until the alleged situation gets resolved."
Sister station 96.5 Kiss FM Cleveland made a similar move earlier today in regards to the airing Chris Brown music. | | *****start poll*****
