UPDATE: From TMZ, looks like everything is fine with Nicki and Mariah after another round of auditions in Charlotte, North Carolina. Seems as if the altercation between the two got everyone on their toes and they realized 'we need to make this work'. 

Everyone was 'embarrased' by what happened and it 'shocked everyone back into place'. TMZ's sources said everyone worked fine and that the judges all meshed together better than just about any configuration Idol has ever had. 

TMZ sources say that Nicki threatened Mariah at one point uring their argument that 'If I had a gun I would shoot her'. Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe quickly got into touch with TMZ to defuse that one and said, "The statement [that Nicki made a death threat] is absolute rubbish.  It's absolutely not true in any way, shape or form."  Nigel added that Mariah confronted Nicki this morning and asked if she made the death threat and Nicki said absolutely not.  Nigel says Mariah's people are stirring the pot and gave her bad info.

Nicki's people are already denying the 'I would shoot her comment too'. 

Oh, and more from TMZ sources say that Nicki claims Mariah called her a b**ch and "She keeps bringing up how many records she's sold, name dropping people she's worked with, how many tours she's done, and how many Grammys or awards she's won ... Nicki is tired of it.

Nicki Minaj got into it with Mariah Carey at the Idol auditions in Charlotte, North Carolina and it apparently got so heated that they just shut down prodcution for the day.

TMZ has cell phone video of the argument and has a source that says Nicki threatened to 'knock out' Mariah before the video starts.
