Update: Not really that unexpected friends aka sources are telling TMZ that Lindsay is out of control and has been drinking up to two liters of vodka a day for months now.

Tmz found out a little bit of the back story about the Lohan arrest. Lindsay punched the girl over Max from the wanted.

The night started when Lindsay went to the Justin Bieber concert to see "The Wanted" who was the opening act and Lindsay has been trying to meet Max for the last few days.

Lindsay tried to get backstage after the concert to see him but she was blocked. Butttttt Later in the night Lindsay finally met up with Max and a few of the guys at a hotel bar. The four of them along with one of Lohan's friends then went to the club Avenue together.

As the night went on Lindsay got so drunk that max blew her off and and started talking to another woman, which is where the lohan rage started.

The woman he started talking to is the same one Lindsay is accused of punching....

TMZ is reporting Lindsay is being booked for third degree misdemeanor assault.

Lindsay Lohan was arrested at 4am on Thursday morning for fighting in a New York nightclub.

Law enforcement sources told TMZ. Lindsay was at Club Avenue when she got into an argument with another woman and things became violent and physical.

Details are sketchy but tmz is saying that it all started when Lindsay and the woman were sitting separate booths near each other at the club and Lindsay started yelling at the woman "Give me my space." Some time passed and then and then for some reason Lindsay allegedly punched the girl.

Police arrived and arrested Lindsay for allegedly assaulting the woman.

If Lindsay is formally charged with the crime, it could trigger another probation violation.
