The person belived to be behind the Manti Te'o fake, dead girlfriend hoax is, Ronaiah Tuiasosopo, according to Deadspin.com

Us Weekly reports that Tuiasosopo tried out for 'The Voice' and had a made up car accident story. "He had this insane sob story before [he sang]," an insider told Us. "It would make for great TV." The Us Weekly source says that Tuiasosopo told producers he and his cousins started a Christian band together and were on their way to perform at a youth conference in Nevada when they got into a "massive" car accident. He claimed a truck crashed into their vehicle, sending them flip-flopping all over the freeway. He also said doctors thought one of them might have been brain-dead, but miraculously, everyone was fine.

Seems fishy now.....

There are also some HUGE pieces that are sketchy in the Sports Illustrated interview Manti did with Pete Thames back in September about his dead girlfriend...

Buzzfeed broke down some KEY parts of the Sports Illustrated interview that stick out....

According to Te'o the way he met Lennay was "just ummm" "kind of regular."

Te'o dodged a question about what she studied, isn't sure about the year she graduated, and then can't say for sure what her major was when Thamel followed up.
