Learning more about the 3 people killed by the Boston Marathon blast on Monday.
8 yr old Martin Richard from Dorchester, near Boston, died in the blast. He was at the race with his parents and his sister. His 6 yr old sister lost her leg in the blast and his mother was also seriously injured.
Martin's father, Bill, who was running in the marathon released the following statement:
"My dear son Martin has died from injuries sustained in the attack on Boston. My wife and daughter are both recovering from serious injuries. We thank our family and friends, those we know and those we have never met, for their thoughts and prayers. I ask that you continue to pray for my family as we remember Martin. We also ask for your patience and for privacy as we work to simultaneously grieve and recover. Thank you."
29 year old, Krystle Campbell, was also killed in the blast. She was a restaurant manager who lived in Medford, Massachusetts.
"We are heartbroken at the death of our daughter, Krystle Marie. She was a wonderful person. Everyone who knew her loved her. She was a sweet kid and friendly, always smiling. She worked so hard at everything she did. She loved her dog. She was funny. She was the best daughter you could ask for. It doesn't make any sense."
Doctors originally told Krystle's father, William, that she had survived the blast but it turned out to be her best friend, Karen. DAILY MAIL
The third victim is reportedly a Chinese national that was a geaduate student at Boston University. Her name has not been released at the family's request CNN
