The National Hockey League announced its national TV broadcast schedule today, and the Penguins will be well represented on the national market.

The Penguins have been selected for eight exclusive broadcasts on Versus, including the opening game at CONSOL Energy Center on Oct. 7 against Philadelphia.

The 2011 Bridgestone Winter Classic against Washington on New Year’s Day will mark the Penguins’ 2010-11 debut on NBC – and up to three more games may be selected as part of NBC’s flexible scheduling agreement with the league. 

In addition to the home-opener, Versus also will have exclusive rights to the following games:  Dec. 14 at Philadelphia;  Jan. 10 vs. Boston;  Feb. 1 at NY Rangers;  Feb. 2 vs. NY Islanders;  Feb. 21 vs. Washington;  March 21 at Detroit;  and April 5 vs. New Jersey.
